Rape
Final product:
I had bought a tub of red fingerpaint and got someone to print their hands on me. Simple but a strong message.

I raided my dad's closet. Taken in my stairwell. It was really hot. I don't know how men wear suits in tropical countries.
Outtakes:
Alice in Wonderland
Final product:
I remembered that the park near my house had a huge maze that was perfect for a shoot which led me to do my own version of Alice in Wonderland, true to my name.

This was taken in celebration of the release of the Half-Blood Prince movie. I did what any fan did and dressed up and imagined I was a part of it all. This was taken at the same park as the Wonderland maze.
Outtakes:
This obviously did not work
For the record, sitting on a broomstick is not comfortable at all
It was very windy
I found a better location after a walk around the park with my little sister aka my photo assistant. Some people stared and smirked at my get-up. They were just jealous.
I quickly learned that jumping will not give you a good "flying" look AND I had dirtied my shoes in the process of learning this lesson. This is part of how to make it look like you're flying without having to jump and have crazy hair:
Snow White

Before
After (If you look carefully, there are apples in the bush. I had a hard time with those)
While taking the Alice in Wonderland photos, my little sister suggested I do a Snow White shoot because of my short black hair. I actually used to have a Snow White costume when I was a kid that I probably wore everyday after I came home from school and even to church. I obviously didn't fit in it anymore so had to find some alternative. Inspiration struck when I was rummaging through my closet and found my bridesmaid's dress from my big sister's wedding. One thing I've learned is to always look for inspiration in quotidian things.
Outtakes:
This was the actual location I had in mind but another thing I've also learned is that the vision you have in mind doesn't always work out so you have to expect the unexpected
Then I found a bush/tree thing and had a lot of fun with it!
So these are just some outtakes from some of my self-portraits. I am always looking for inspiration in everything I come across. I also never take anyone's judgement and opinion into the process of my work. As Andy Warhol says: "Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art."
